Bjorn Dunlop

Senior Design Consultant and BIM Manager
Bjorn Dunlop

Bjorn started with the design branch of Southern Hospitality in 2012, leaving in 2014 to become Design Manager at another firm which dealt with EQC (earthquake commission) repairs in Christchurch. Bjorn returned to PDI, setting up and training all staff in the innovative technology; Revit and BIM. He was then recruited to join the technology giant A2K as the Business Development Manager of the South Island, eventually returning to PDI in 2017. He has a strong focus on design delivery and project management and is passionate about propelling PDI to the forefront of the industry in New Zealand.

Bjorn is a Senior Design Consultant and manages the BIM operations within the company. His recent projects include being Lead Designer for the Christchurch Convention Centre, the Langlands Hotel, Man Street Hotel, Park Hyatt and various cafes and bars for Hoyts Christchurch.

He brings an extensive background in the industry and several qualifications across marketing, photography, interior architecture and Autodesk Revit to his role. Upon graduating, Bjorn worked for six years in the UK and gained experience working on large residential developments leading a team of six senior Architects.

A notable achievement for Bjorn has been bringing PDI into the 21st Century with the integration of BIM systems. Working on the Christchurch Convention Centre as the Senior Designer has been a great experience, as it’s bringing the expertise of the PDI team to the wider community of Christchurch and it’s a great way of seeing how PDI designers can collaborate with consultants to assist in the development of a state of the art precinct.
